| Purposes of this site |
We established this site to promote exchanges among
Asian countries.
The reason why I thought about establishing this site
was because I studied in Beijing, China for 4 years,
starting in 1995. In fact, I went there to satisfy my
interest in Asia rather than to study a foreign language.
I was not very good at communicating with others,
so I tried actively to interact with people. Looking
back that period, I think that I started to recognize
that I should act on my own to communicate with
others, and should not wait for others to come to me.
I struggled to communicate with people by using a
dictionary and a memo pad, and they were very friendly
and kind to me. They might have had compassion
for me (laugh).
The contents of my exchanges with people then
varied from exchanges of information and opinions,
learning from each other to consulting on romance,
and so on. The word "exchange" has some kind of
dignified feeling,
but I just wanted to make friends.
And my experiences during the period became valuable
assets for me. I truly appreciate that I was able to have
such great opportunities, and I hope that I will be able
to provide users with similar experiences via Asianship.
